Today we're back at last month's stationery kit with a reveal! The new card for June was the hummingbird and trumpet vine card, inspired by all of the very busy hummingbirds that come to my backyard here in Albuquerque this time of year. Scroll down to see all the goodies subscribers received.

In case you missed it, on social media this week I announced a bit of an update! I've lately been feeling like on my main Instagram account (@jenfoxstudio) I find myself holding back on sharing TOO much about these monthly snail mail kits and about letter writing & snail mail in general because I don't want to alienate the people who came there for my artwork and gifts. Some people just aren't that into card writing (silly them!) but I wanted to find a place where I could talk more about snail mail in general.

Enter - a new Instagram account, just for my snail mail and stationery kit peeps! Nothing is changing about the monthly kits you've been receiving, but after a lot of brainstorming I've come up with a new name for the kits.

Wild Plume is the new home for all things stationery kits! To me, the name represents so many of the things my artwork is about: plume refers to the plumage on birds, and it also is reminiscent of flower blooms. A super common plant here in the high desert is the Apache Plume, which has gorgeous, ethereal pink wispy blooms in the summer.

A plume is also a reference to a writing tool, of course the perfect tribute to letter writing!

So, nothing is truly changing about the kits themselves, the only change is in the way I get to show up online to talk about letter writing and snail mail now that I have a dedicated place to do that. I'd love to have you follow me on Instagram at the new account @wild__plume (that's two underscores in a row if you're typing it in!).

Without further delay, here's the look at June's kit:

Each month, I send subscribers a letter from me and lately I've been including a poem in each one. I love searching for just the right one! Below is the letter, and links to the cards from the kit. If you want your own, here's the link to sign up.

June 2026, Volume 51

Today I’m in my cool studio while the bugs and the butterflies swirl outside my window in the heat of the day. My husband is outside preparing the covered patio to receive new mosquito netting, which I am both thrilled to have for when those devils descend upon my backyard, and dismayed that I need to devote any of our precious time and resources into thinking about.

I came across this poem by Barbara Kingsolver last week, and funny enough this morning my mother in law sent it to the family as she was thinking about our upcoming family trip to the shore. Though I do love my walks and frocks, I am compelled by this notion to strip away all of the “doings” to find what’s left.

How to Do Absolutely Nothing - Barbara Kingsolver

Rent a house near the beach, or a cabin
but: Do not take your walking shoes.
Don’t take any clothes you’d wear
anyplace anyone would see you.
Don’t take your rechargeables.
Take Scrabble if you have to,
but not a dictionary and no
pencils for keeping score.
Don’t take a cookbook
or anything to cook.
A fishing pole, ok
but not the line,
hook, sinker,
leave it all.
Find out
what’s
left.

In my last note, I asked if you would like writing prompts, and I did receive several positive responses. For now, I’ll keep it simple. NPR has a recurring segment called “The Unsung Hero” where people call in to tell the stories of an act of kindness someone did for them that they were never able to thank them for. Typically the stories are about strangers, or someone whose path crossed theirs for a brief moment in time but who left an outsized impact. It’s a heartwarming segment, and made me wonder if you have an unsung hero that comes to mind?

Finally, a note about this month’s kit. I was inspired to create this ruby throated hummingbird and trumpet vine card this month by my blooming flower garden and the stunned hummingbird we had to gently shuttle out of the house last week. The birds are loving the blooming flowers by the house just as much as I’m loving keeping the door open!

May your June be alive and full,

Jen
